Thank you to all of you who help raise awareness about the benefits of AAC, especially for individuals on the autism spectrum. Communication challenges frequently result in a severe underestimation of intelligence and ability. Providing robust AAC gives individuals the chance to express themselves, if verbal speech and nonverbal communication aren’t meeting communication needs. It’s important, not because anyone should have to prove intelligence, but because we all have something to say. It’s a basic human right to Speak for Yourself.
